JESUS BEING MOCKED
by Tom Lineaweaver
by Tom Lineaweaver
On a Facebook group, this question was asked, "Which Gospel song, touches your heart anytime it is played?
My response, "This one makes me cry everytime I hear it....
Then I shared it on my timeline, then the thought occurred, "God grew the tree that he knew his son would die on. It's sad that many go to church and make a mockery of it."
What do I mean by mockery? Let's take the Greed Gospel as preached by Joel Osteen. God is a great loving guy with a sack of goodies that all you have to do is sit on his lap and ask him for anything and if you believe he'll give it to you.
If I had a TV show, playing this sermon, I would be yelling, "Stop the tape." First point, we are slaves to Christ. The article here explains it...

So, you see, we should ask to be better slaves.
There is nothing in Scripture that says God wants us to have an abundant life as Joel Osteen explains it. An abundant life in Christ comes with persecution. "Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." 2nd Timothy 3.12, ASV.
Did you hear the Santa Claus mentality in his sermon.
Stop the tape! I have a question. In this sermon, Joel said God is in control. If that is true, isn't it possible God put hardships in our lives? But according to Joel, hardships come from an enemy. Only abundance come from our great loving God. And that is far from true.
It is written in Isaiah 45.7, "I form the light and create darkness; I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things." MEV. Older translations say, "create evil." But the proper translation is "calamity." According to Joel Osteen, God must be the enemy. Certainly hurricanes are calamitous, and they cause much hardship, and it is God that created it.
"He's already placed abundance in your future." So, you can be sure that if God placed a hurricane in your future, rest assured, it will be an abundant hurricane.
These circumstances he keeps talking about. What if those circumstances came from God, like the circumstances in Noah's life, or in Jonah's life, or in Lot's life. Sure was abundant flood for Noah. Sure was an abundant fish that swallowed Jonah. Sure was abundant destruction of Sodom and Gommorrah that Lot escaped from. So, when God gives abundance, it's not always pleasant.
Stop the tape! In this sermon, he has used the word "destiny" several times to indicate your destiny is something that will be great, and will be a huge blessing from God. But, what if your destiny is persecution, as it was for Paul. In Acts 9 is the story of Paul's conversion. In this Ananias was told that Paul will be shown all the he must suffer for the namesake of Christ. This is not the kind of life that Joel Osteen preaches. Yet it is the kind of life slaves of Christ can expect.
Okay, I've had enough of this sermon, all of 11 minutes. If you decide to listen to the whole thing and have questions, feel free to ask.
By the way, I'm not the only one that knows the truth about Joel Osteen...

All this to say, many who go to church today (Sunday, 4-29-18) will be mocking Christ. The teachings of Christ are not being followed by too many people in America.
One more thing. What about the antics of Benny Hinn. Learn about him here.... www.false-teachers.com/hinnvideos.html

These people don't care about what Jesus did. All they care about is making their millions. It's really sad.
